TOURISM IN CYPRUS
brief:
Designing and visualizing how 2 million people from all around the globe come to visit Cyprus through, this period of time, 1980 to 2010.
problem:
The problem with this project was that the information I had were messy, a good example is Europe with Asia and Oceania. Europe had for at least 20 years more than 1 million tourists per year while Asia and Oceania couldn't come close to 1/10. That's why I decided to generalize it so its easier and faster to understand it.
idea:
I looked through the worldwide European map, since Cyprus is part of the European union and I replaced all the continents with a much simpler shape. Based on that I calculated how many tourists came to visit the island for each year and for each continent while using some limitations with my new data I ended up with this result.

Number 1 is the final design since I had to keep it as clean as I could, however I wanted to try and a bit more "chaotic" one (like number 2).
